Biography: Abraham is an Associate in the corporate and commercial practice group of Mehrteab Leul and Associates Law Office. His practice includes financial law, taxation, digital regulation, and real estate practices. He graduated top of his class from the School of Law of the University of Gondar with an LLB and an LLM in Business and Corporate Law at Bahir Dar University. Prior to joining MLA, Abraham was an Associate at Mesfin Tafesse and Associates Law Office and was a Lecturer in-law at Debre Berhan University.

Advised different clients on the potential ways of forex management;
Advised different lenders in relation to amendments of multibillion-dollar loans to major Ethiopian Government public enterprises (wholly owned by Federal Government of Ethiopia) and in relation to the establishment, perfection, and enforcement of securities in Ethiopia;
Advised the foreign banks on the potentials of availing a promissory note issued by Ethiopian Public Enterprise who was a borrower for a foreign lender,
Advised foreign banks on the means of serving as a forex agent and entering into arrangements with local financial institutions and on the entry and amendment of loan agreements;
Authored the Bloomberg VAT Navigator, a high-level analysis on the Ethiopian VAT regime, and co-authored the Bloomberg Country Guide on Ethiopian Taxes.
Assisted clients on the application of the Ethiopian Double Taxation Treaty on financial institutions and foreign investors and contributed in the scaling solar tax and finance due diligence,
Advised leading insurance companies on the laws and institutional framework governing the insurance business in Ethiopia.
Assisted a leading telecommunication company on the overall Ethiopian telecom and investment laws; advised several clients who wish to invest in the passive telecommunication infrastructure;
Assisted different clients who engaged in the development of real estate including on real estate sale and purchase, taxation, and financial regulation issues; and
Contributed to the World Bank Group’s yearly study on the Doing Business.
