Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture has issued the Forest Carbon Trading Directive pursuant to the Forest Development, Conservation and Utilization Proclamation. This Directive establishes Ethiopia’s first comprehensive framework for forest carbon credit trading. The Directive aims to promote sustainable forest development and conservation, multi-stakeholder participation in forest carbon credit trading, and the benefit of the country from global opportunities in the sector.
