Gutema Kajela is an associate at Mehrteab & Getu Advocates LLP’s Corporate and Tax Practice Group. He advised and assisted multiple clients on Ethiopian investment laws, commercial laws, tax laws and employment laws. He has experience in company incorporations, processing issuance of necessary permits and/or licenses, corporate restructuring, tax litigation, transfer pricing, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. Assisted Chinese companies in several tax litigations;
Assisted several companies in preparing due diligence reports for legal and regulatory compliance;
Assisted clients in preparing jurisdictional due diligence and opinions;
Assisted and advised several companies in their immigration matters;
Provided legal advice and opinion for several multinational companies and NGOs in relation to corporate, tax and employment matters;
Assisted Israeli companies in restructuring their transfer pricing policies;

Prepared expert legal opinion for Chinese Construction Companies in their arbitration proceeding on the construction contract with the government of Ethiopia;

Advise USA companies on Ethiopian telecommunication law matters;
Conducted pro bono services in several areas of Ethiopian law, mainly on the sovereign debt in Ethiopia
