Biography: Debora Belachew is a Trainee Associate at MLA. Before joining MLA, she served as a volunteer at the Haramaya University Legal Clinics Program. Debora also served as the Program Coordinator for the Female Law Students and Legal Professionals Network. She participated in the 31st Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition. At Haramaya University, she was the champion, best memorial winner, best oralist, and best female oralist of the 5th Inter-Batch Moot Court Competition. During her final year of study, she completed her externship at MLA.

Education: Debora graduated in Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with very great distinction, as a gold medalist.

• Prepared various legal opinions on various Corporate, Mining, Real Estate, Tax, Technology issues.
• Prepared several due diligence reports.
• Advised several clients on data protection and related matters.
• Conducted an investigative report related to bribery and anti-corruption laws.
• Assisted clients in several tax cases.
• Assisted a mining company in negotiating with the Ministry of Mines and reinstatement of their terminated license.
• Drafted and reviewed various legal documents such as shareholder agreements, lease agreements, Service Agreements, Debt Settlement agreements, resolutions, various contracts, etc.
• Provided Pro Bono Service on various legal matters.
